After years of anticipation, Gucci Mane finally release his movie, The Spot.
There are many movies coming out this year, but one that should be at the top of your “Must See” list is Hidden Figures. Not only is it showing in theaters during the time of Black History Month, but it’s also a movie representing African Americans (women in particular) during a time when Blacks were not considered equal to whites; neither races could drink from the same fountain nor use the same bathroom. It teaches a great history lesson, and not to mention the three leading roles in the movie are starring African Americans.
Donald Glover had a huge year in 2016. Glover created and stared in the hit show Atlanta arguably one of the best shows of the year, released of his third studio album Awaken, My Love and the announcement of his role as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars movie. Now the Atlanta star has been cast as Simba in Disney’s remake of Lion King.
The new live-action version of Lion King which is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book), is set for a 2018 release. James Earl Jones who was the original voice of Mufasa will return for the live-action film. James Earl Jones also voiced Darth Vader in each Star Wars the villain was featured in.
