Hasn’t made one tackle in college. Hasn’t caught one interception in college. Hasn’t even played a game at the college level; however, the potential for Rutgers safety Naijee Jones is incredible.

This New Jersey native is young, talented, and a redshirt. However, his college career is about to take off. Just look at how his high school successes translate. While attending Timber Creek HS, he won two championships as a junior and senior. Jones was one of the biggest factors in both seasons as he played on both sides of the ball, barely ever seeing a break. This will absolutely translate to the college game, as many other athletes are used to having more breaks and time to breathe. Not to mention, his endless training with Fear None Training. During his senior year, he helped his squad end the season with a 12-0 record, putting up 53 tackles, four defended passes, and two interceptions. The prior year, he recorded 41 tackles and two interceptions. Now, this is super impressive, considering he didn’t begin to take football seriously until his freshman year of high school. He’s so special because he’s doing great things, and he understands exactly what he needs to do to become an even better player. “Probably slowing that game down,” says Jones when I asked him what he feels he needs to improve on. I’d love to see what’s next from this guy. In an interview with In The Mix Media, he said that he’s aiming to catch at least five interceptions. I guess that’s what’s next.

Another interesting question that was asked during the In The Mix interview was, “Who’s your favorite athlete?” This FOOTBALL star said Lebron James. I guess I can’t blame him. When asked why, he said it was because Lebron is so consistent, and there’s never really been a time where he’s “fell off.” He also mentioned the way he carries himself — very similar to each other, actually. They’re extremely level-headed players, both coachable, and overall great teammates. Level-headed while listening to Meek Mill on game day.

Stay tuned for Rutgers safety Naijee Jones.
