Another small school, but another big player. This 6’2″ guard, Kody Jacoby, suits up for Penn State Schuylkill; however, he competes like he’s in the Big 10 or Big East. The senior is dropping an average 29.8 points, grabbing 9+ boards, 4.5 assists every night. Now, you tell me if he’s a sleeper. Regardless if he’s a sleeper or not, he claimed his spot as Player of the Year in the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC), ending the season on a good note during senior night. Despite a four point loss, he recorded his career high of 44 points and 16 rebounds in his last game against Penn State Hazleton
A key part of his game that gives him an advantage is his heart. Watching the kid play, whether it’s in person or just highlights, you will never question why he plays the game. Its clear that he loves the game and wants to win, giving his all on every play. Aggressive on defense, blocking anything he possibly can (as shown in the highlight reel below). Aggressive in traffic, but possesses incredible basketball IQ to avoid fouls. Aggressive AND versatile. He’s a guy with great size that can get to the basketball to lay the ball up but can also shoot from 20 feet out with ease. Not to mention, he’s a great leader on the court.
Unfortunately, every great college career has to come to an end, and this is that time for Jacoby. Notice that I specifically said “college.” Who knows what is in store for him down the line? I suggest you all watch close.
