Temetrius “Ja” Morant is definitely a sleeper athlete. Averaging 13, 6 and 6 is impressive for a young freshman. With season highs of 23 points against Southeast Missouri and 14 assists versus Eastern Illinois. Imagine what he’ll do after you give him some years under his belt. He’s going to be dangerous. Not saying that he’ll be a first round pick, but I do predict him being a steal in the NBA when the time comes.

Before he began his college, Morant took the court at Crestwood High School in South Carolina and was unranked. As a junior and senior, he was named South Carolina Class 3A All-State and was 3x All-Region MVP. While at Crestwood, he nearly averaged a triple-double with 27 points, 8 assists, and 8 rebounds.

Ja Morant is a consistent and unselfish guard, which is what is needed on allot of teams. To come out every night and put up numbers no matter the opponent is something that is rare in many players. In addition to his points and passes, you also count on him to get the ball off of a steal maybe once or twice per game. This once or twice can win a game.

Here’s some highlights of his triple-double performance against EIU.
