This is the first year as a college basketball player for Oklahoma University guard Trae Young, but he plays like a senior. It’s only been five games in the season, and the young Young has been on the court longer than any other person on the team, averaging 31 min per game. In that 31 minutes on the court, this MoKan Elite alumni has gotten a chance to rack up some impressive stats. In the most recent OU matchup against Oregon in the PK80 tournament, Trae Young scored 43 points in 37 minutes. Scoring most of his points in the paint and at the line. His size may be considered a disadvantage, but he makes it work by drawing fouls. He has obviously been perfecting his craft for a while, since he has a .894 percentage from the line. This amazing percentage contributes to his scoring average of 28.2. Not only does he lead the team, but he currently leads the entire Big 12 Conference. We can argue that if he keeps it up, he’ll be leading the conference in assists to take Kansas’ Devonte’ Grahams spot. Currently standing at number two of the Bug 12 assists leaders with 8.6 SPG. Only time will tell where this kid goes in the future. Stay tuned!
