Every summer the NBA world experiences blockbuster free agent signings, firings, and trades and the summer of 2017 appears to be no different. In the first major blockbuster move of the summer, the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to trade all star point guard Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets.
In exchange for Chris Paul, the Clippers receive former Wisconsin standout Sam Dekker, First team all defense guard Patrick Beverly, sixth man of the year candidate Lou Williams, and a 2018 first round pick (protected Nos. 1-3).
Chris Paul had a strong desire to play along side the MVP candidate James Harden which became a driving force in why the deal was made to Houston and not elsewhere. In his six seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers Paul averaged 18.7 points, 9.9 assists, and 2.3 steals a game easily making him a leading candidate for the best player to ever dawn a Clippers uniform.
