Michael Jordan’s “Flu Game” is one of, if not THE most iconic games in sports history. That historic moment in basketball is now 20 years old.
Between games 4 and 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz, Michael Jordan came down with Flu-like symptoms. Though Jordan was not supposed to play, Mike refused to sit out during the finals.
Fighting through the symptoms, Michael was able to still play 44 minutes of the finals and finish the game with 38 points on 48% shooting from the field.
Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen said helping Jordan off the court was probably “the most difficult thing” he has ever done.
This game is one of the stamps in Michael Jordan’s legacy that sealed his name in sports history.
