Details on Former NFL Wide Receiver James Hardy’s Death

Wednesday (June 7) Former wide receiver James was found dead in the Maumee River in Indiana, exactly a week after being reported missing to the police by his mother.

Friday on June 9 Hardy’s body was found by the Allen County Coroner’s office. According to Fort Wayne Police Department, they responded to a report of a body seen by an employee of the City’s Water Filtration Plant. The employee was taking his dog for a walk along the catwalk of the Hosey Dam when he discovered Hardy’s body. Once on scene officers saw a body floating on the north side of the dam entangled on a log jam. It’s been said Hardy’s body was in the river for several days before being taken out.

Reasoning behind Hardy’s death is still under investigation. The body was taken to Indiana Forensic Center for an autopsy to identify the cause of his death. 

He was 31 years old and also the ex-boyfriend of Lil Wayne’s baby mother Toya Wright.
