Looks like the king of New York’s mural won’t be around for too long. The city is planning on taking down one of Biggie’s most honorable tributes
Bed-Stuy will lose one of it’s most famous art and tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. According to source DNAinfo. A two-story mural of Bed-Sty’s hometown hero Notorious B.I.G. is slated to be destroyed after the owner of the building on which it’s painted prepares to renovate, according to the landlord Samuel Berkowitz and the mural’s artists.
Even though this mural means a lot to Biggie’s fans, who admire the beauty of its artwork when passing by and taking pictures in front of it — Berkowitz doesn’t see a reason to keep the mural around any longer.
He said, “Let me rephrase the question: Why should I keep it? I don’t even see the point of the discussion. I could demolish the building if I wanted to, I don’t need no permission from anyone except the DOB.”
Sounds like Berkowitz has some type of vendetta. Why would you tear down something that means so much to other people? Some people are just plain rude and nasty for no apparent reason. If you’re a Biggie fan and you live in a nearby area, I suggest if you always wanted to take a picture in front of the building, go take it as soon as possible, before it’s too late.
