Jetlag flight of the week: Luck

Fresh off of the release of his new mixtape L.U.C.K. (Live Under Constant Knowledge) I caught up with Wordplay Luck. Lamar Lucky he was born in Florence, SC and moved to Spartanburg in 2004. In 2006 he was influenced by the local battle rappers to start rapping. His first song ended up being recorded on a jail broken copy of cool edit pro. Music ended up being an outlet for Luck’s thoughts and things he was going through

Later in life, Luck linked up with Matt Young through a mutual friend. His first mixtape “Still Trying” was recorded with Young. Being able to record in an actual studio was amazing for Luck. He worked with Young up until 2012 when they went their separate ways musically.  Luck starts to record himself to learn the other side of music.

Through the process of recoding himself he links up with the Stack Boys. They form Pressure Ent with Dammy 864. Through the years they all elevated themselves and their craft. Luck’s project L.U.C.K. (Live Under Constant Knowledge) is his most personal project to date. He expresses all of his thoughts and feelings. Its on Spinrilla as of right now and is hosted by Jetlag’s own Top Flight Rento.

Luck is currently in the studio now working on his next project diligently. Its  reminiscent of Kanye Wests 808s and heart breaks. Luck is working on the other side of rap. Not quite singing but harmonizing a bit. There’s no doubt in my mind that Luck is an artist to watch for in the future. So expect big things from him coming soon.
