As we all know, fashion trends change from season to season. We all patiently wait for the arrival of each fashion week, just to see what’s in and what’s out, when it comes to colors, clothes, shoes, accessories and more. Spring/Summer ’17 shows had different fashionistas revamping their closet for the upcoming seasons. Let’s talk about some designers that are going to be brands to look out for this Spring season.
Balenciaga set the bar very high for this season’s upcoming trends. Denma Gvasalia brought back the idea of an oversized silhouette by inserting a whalebone rod across the shoulders of trench coats and boxy jackets.
The ‘80s was big on bright colors and spandex, and we see some of this brought back in the Spring/Summer ’17 show. The models wore bright colored spandex from their hips down to their feet. Spandex is a fabric that is form-fitting and is usually used for athletic pieces, but Denma Gvasalia gave it a more glamorous look. Since the show, we have seen various women in the fashion world wearing Balenciaga’s spandex boots.
Gucci has been taking the world by storm lately due its floral and fauna designs. The new creative director, Alessandro Michele, reinvented Gucci by gathering his inspiration from his father and childhood memories.
When it came to the SS ’17 show, Michele made statements with his creations. Gucci’s extra big-framed sunglasses were a standout, as were the big hats with astonishing details. The ‘70s vibe of the show awed everyone.
Since the show, we have seen different people rocking various types of Gucci items, such as the slippers lined with fur, sneakers, the extra-big sunglasses, clothing, and more. Gucci continues to make statement trends for the world to rock!
Some of the latest trends that we have seen consist of stripes and athletic-inspired footwear. Silva Venturini and Karl Lagerfeld teamed up for a second time in Milan for the SS ’17 show.
Models walked down the runway in stripes, lingerie inspired silks, boots and shoes with stripes, some athletic inspired and others not. Floral material was spotted on several dresses and skirts, even embroidered items could be found on a few pieces. The straps of the handbags were decorated with flowers too. Florals for spring are expected when it comes to fashion. But seeing designers get creative with florals is the part of the excitement of the show.
Spring 2017 Ready-To-Wear shows were definitely a success. We have already seen tons of people rocking a few of these trends already. I wonder what the designers are going to have up their sleeves for next season. Guess we will just have to stay tuned.
