Let’s Dance

“Dress It Up And Make It Real For Me.” One of the best times in sports is now among us, March Madness. The craziest and most unpredictable tournament in sports. Selection Sunday has passed and the brackets are set for the tournament to make it to the big dance. As the tournament creeps towards its start, there are a few teams you need to watch for as they could make a great run throughout the rest of March Madness.

Oklahoma Sooners

It’s no question that the Oklahoma Sooners are going to be a force throughout the NCAA Tournament, but this team really has title contender written all over them. Lead by National Player Of The Year Candidate, Buddy Hield, The number two seed Sooners could easily have an argument for being deserving of a number one seed in the Tournament. Buddy Hield is making a huge name for himself by leading the Sooners and averaging 25 points per game. The Oklahoma Sooners are also a great 3-point shooting team, shooting 43 percent, which in the past as shown to be a key factor in the tournament. The Sooners do not have many flaws in their game so their squad is one to keep an eye on.

North Carolina Tar Heels

Coming into the season, there was no question that the North Carolina Tar Heels were going to be the team to beat throughout the season. Throughout the season though, the Tar Heels showed struggles to win games that they should have won with no problem, and injuries took a toll on the team. Despite struggles during the regular season, the North Carolina Tar Heels have seemed to peak at the correct time. The Tar Heels have won 6 of their last 7 games with a 5 game winning streak, along with winning the ACC regular season title and tournament title. North Carolina is a team that usually plays exceptionally well in the NCAA tournament, so this team will definitely be on the radar for title contention.

Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns are going to be somewhat of a sleeper in this tournament. The opponents the Longhorns have faced throughout the regular season could really help them shape up to be a team to make a run throughout the tournament. Texas has had one of the hardest schedules in the country and have quality wins over North Carolina, West Virginia, and Oklahoma. The Longhorns have talent and experience behind Javan Felix and Cameron Ridley, also mixed with young talent such as Isaiah Taylor and Tevin Mack. The Texas Longhorns are no strangers to March Madness and could shock a few teams around the country.

Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans

What is the NCAA Tournament without a Cinderella team? This is my Cinderella pick in the tournament. Arkansas-Little Rock is a small team that many do not know about. They are great at controlling the pace of the game and do not make many mistakes. Little Rock comes into the tournament as a 12 seed, and as history tells us, 12 seeds are bound for a upset during the tournament. I wouldn’t choose these guys to go all the way, but I definitely believe they will be a team trying on the glass shoe.
